Omolara Sowande is a trained teacher and counsellor who transitioned into Human Resources by choice and has built a career as a passionate Talent and Learning strategist with over 20 years of professional experience. She holds degrees in Education, Guidance & Counselling, and Human Resources.
Her journey began in the classroom, teaching at different levels and volunteering at an adult school, where she helped learners pursue their dreams of literacy. She later moved into Human Resources as a Generalist before focusing on her first love—Learning & Development. Over the years, she has designed and deployed development centers to assess leadership potential, curated HR-led capability programs, and crafted organizational learning strategies.
Omolara is recognized for turning learning into measurable impact, from designing interventions that close performance gaps to building a bespoke performance conversation app using Microsoft Power Apps. She currently leads the Learning & Development team at DP World (MDS Logistics), driving workforce capability, aligning learning outcomes with global logistics standards, and scaling microlearning to support operational excellence.
Outside work, Omolara enjoys sketching, podcasts over tea, and journaling reflections she hopes to publish in a book someday.
